"For 10,000 years we've waged war against nature. Now its time to wage war upon man."

Everyone knows what is wrong, what is right, and what is just, but somewhere along the line, we forgot to care about those things. We said that we'd "care about it tommorow", or that we'd do something about it when there wasn't so much work to be done. And the day to day was once again the day to day, amid the struggle to keep a job, to get the assignments done, to keep up with friends, we never got to stop for a moment to remember that things were going wrong. They won't let us stop to think about it even for a second, they've got us wound up in the life that we've become mired in, they've got us clouded in the things they want is to be concerned with, they've got us to tired, stressed out and angry to pinpoint our rage and frustration into destroying the things that are making us weak. Somewhere along the line, they slipped something very wrong under our noses, and made us forget about it. This is a Declaration of whats right.

It happens to all of us. The staunch environmentalist who has to drive her car to go to the grocery store that they've built just outside of her physical reach. The human rights activist wearing the shoes made in mexico by slaves because thats all he can afford on his industrialized salary. The vegan who has to eat fast food because the only kind of restuarants they built on the side of the highway were McDonalds and Taco Bells. The 15 year old who starts to realize a sense of something terribly wrong buy can never put his finger on it because the only things the let him read in school were the textbooks the made in their education factories and the only things they ever talked about were distractions from what he should really be caring about, distractions that pulled him back each time he started to wonder if this was all there really was.

Living on earth in 1999 is like living in some grotesque Kafka novel. Except this story is so vague that you can't even read the story revealed inside, you can only see the cover, a short glimpse into the truth. Everyone knows that there is a sick story inside those pages, we've all felt that sudden urge to scream in fear of what's behind the walls. But they won't let us in. Everyone knows that there is something wrong with society, but no one knows what it is anymore, where it comes from, and who creates it by what means. And thats just how they want it.

There have always been problems. We've build our civilization on the spoils earned from conquering them. When we could see our enemy, we could destroy it, and we could claim victory. Jesus was a problem, so the Romans destroyed him; Egypt was a problem, so Alexander the great destroyed it; Native Americans were a problem, so Columbus destroyed them; the Nazi's where a problem, so the Allies destroyed them; the rainforest is a problem, so we are destroying it - in each of these battles, the protaganist declared victory over its enemy. "We have seen the enemy, and it is ours" proclaimed General Hazard, prior to destroying the south in the American Civil War. Today, there is an enemy, a more formidable and broad enemy than we have ever encountered before, but since it cannot be seen, it cannot directly be fought or destroyed. This is just how they want it, just how they want us to be. Most of us will never realize that there is something wrong - the daily tedium of modern living will keep most of us happily occupied until we die in our boxes and are placed in the earth. Some of us will grasp a sense of the rotten, but will be powerless against it, for our whole lives have been exercises in dulling our will and our natural abilities. Some of us will encounter it directly and begin the war, hacking an slashing at whatever part of this machine that we can find. Some of us will be destroyed. Some of us will keep fighting, until the piece of shit with our name on it is dead, until the machine we were born to destroy is a cloud of smoke rising into the air, until everything wrong we ever come across is a fucking hole in the ground, until we are dead.

This is our Declaration.
