As a result of our culture which views "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" as the quest for material possessions we have objectified our planet and all life and relationships which exist upon it. All reverence for life and sacredness has been swept aside for short term material gain. The majority of the population of the planet is no longer viewed as sovereign beings with their own individual traits but as a source of economic gain for those in the first world.

To maximize the profit gained by selling their products to consumers in the first world, corporations have violently and brutally forced populations of the third world into slave labour, treating them as they would objects and disregarding their worth as human beings. Their cultures have been assimilated in the name of the superiority and “moral” authority of the west. Their lives are seen as expendable, all those who stand in their way are crushed and weeded out to pave the way for the rape and exploitation of the third world’s natural and human resources.

The meat and dairy industry has forced animals into the most criminally insane situations in order to reap the maximum profits on the market. Animals are confined to the most congested cages possible. They are pumped full of drugs and hormones (which eventually find their ways into the bodies of their consumers) in order to maximize their weight and dairy out put. They are subject to a life of suffering and misery and in the end are brutally slaughtered so that their corpses can be sold for profit. In essence they are raped of all that they are worth for their entire lives and in the end, when their living bodies can give their oppressor no more gain they are murdered for their body.

The cost of this system on the environment is barbaric. We have (and continue to) slash and burn away our ancient forests and habitats. Environmental restrictions have been swept aside in the name of the almighty dollar and as a result we have poisoned the very soil, water and air upon which all life takes it’s root. What should be regarded as the very source upon which all life needs in order to survive has been regarded as an expendable resource of no worth other than as a source of short term profit.

The fact that our system and to be more specific our very society has been built upon such values has sewn the seeds for our own downfall. The hidden results of this system of exploitation and avarice is only serving to destroy us both physically, through the demise of our planet, the unbalanced nature of our diet based on animal consumption, and the just revolts of those held under the bonds of such a system. As well as mentally, through the attempted rationalization and justification of what can not possibly be justified, pushing us towards our own insanity.

The time has come for those who have been kept blind by their privilege and indifference to make a choice. The choice to join the struggle for justice and turn the tide upon this omnicide which is being committed against the planet and all life which resides upon it. Or to accept this insanity and sit back as this planet plummets towards it’s end.
